Do you feel bad even when your test results are normal?

If your medical labs keep coming back normal, why do you feel so bad? Because traditional lab tests are general. They are not designed to get to the root of a problem, and they tend to lead to masking symptoms with a one-size-fits-all plan rather than to good health. We use functional tests that identify your body’s unique chemical make-up and deficiencies — starting with a comprehensive questionnaire covering nutrient deficiencies, heavy-metal toxicity, adrenals, thyroid, gut and hormones — to find which systems are creating problems and how to fix them. It is the first step back.

Adrenal testing

Chronic stress leads to adrenal hormone imbalance and a breakdown in communication between brain and adrenal glands. Resetting adrenal health influences metabolism, hormone production, memory, sleep, energy and immunity — and chronic pain, through its effect on muscle, bone and connective tissue and your body’s own anti-inflammatory hormones.

Our trusted test is the DUTCH (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones): the most extensive profile of sex and adrenal hormones and their metabolites, plus the daily pattern of free cortisol and melatonin. No other method offers this combination.

Thyroid testing

Thyroid problems are rampant, and few people get satisfaction from medical care here. The functional approach looks deeper, because so much outside the thyroid influences it: environmental toxins, gut health, cortisol, liver function. Instead of TSH alone we order the additional testing that shows what is really going on, and we always check for thyroid antibodies — in many cases the immune system is attacking the thyroid, and the immune system is what needs support.

Gastrointestinal testing

Abdominal pain, gas and bloating, arthritis, headaches, heartburn, skin problems, chronic fatigue — any of these can trace back to the gut. Restoring GI health means removing hidden infections, dealing with food sensitivities, resetting digestion and balancing the nerve supply to the gut.

There is no better test than the GI-MAP from Diagnostic Solutions Lab: a stool test done at home that screens for nearly 60 infections by DNA analysis plus digestive markers. We find 9 out of 10 people we test have some kind of GI infection, robbing nutrients and creating inflammation.

Heavy-metal testing

Mercury, lead, aluminium and cadmium toxicity is real and can significantly affect health. Your functional questionnaire tells us whether testing is wise. Medical testing only shows acute exposure — metals bind deeper after several weeks — so we use functional tests that reveal the effects of hidden, deep toxicity on your metabolism.

Nutrition deficiency

Many of us take vitamins, but which do we actually need? Organic acids are by-products of normal metabolism, and measuring them in a simple urine test gives insight into B-vitamin status, energy production, liver detox pathways, antioxidant status, intestinal bacteria and yeast activity, and neurotransmitter breakdown.

Hormone testing

What is unique about our work is that we always look at hormones in the context of everything else — digestion, liver function, toxins, diet, stress. We use serum, saliva or DUTCH testing depending on what your case needs.
